Pentacon was engaged as the principal contractor for the construction of a culvert for a Heavy Vehicle Crossing at Pembroke’s Olive Downs Complex.

56no. of dia pipes installed at 12.5metres long x 2.4metres.

 

The project scope was to work with the client to design and construct a culvert for a Heavy Vehicle Crossing.

Scope of Works

Design

  • Work with Client to find the most cost effective position for the culvert

  • Analysis of the Hydrology Data

  • Design Culverts and Temporary works

  • 2400m3 of flowable fill

  • 1500t of rock

    Ground Preparation

  • Excavation to ensure proper foundation for the culverts.

  • Removal of unsuitable material and preparation of bedding for culvert placement.

    Culvert Installation

  • Installation of 8 x 2400 mm corrugated steel pipe culverts for HV access across the Northern Diversion Drain.

  • Coordination of CSP transport, handling, and placement to specified design levels.

  • Backfilling with 2400m3 of flowable fill

  • Backfilling with compliant material up to 3 meters above the top of the pipe, including compaction and testing to meet the project standards.

    Drainage and Protection Measures

  • Installation of inlet and outlet rock protection as specified.

  • Dust suppression and water management for site areas as per environmental standards
